Rage Against the Machine

It's sad that you qoou's don't have a thread on Rage Against the Machine (It's okay, if you want to blame SK I'll accept that as a legitimate excuse for just about anything). After all, not only were they one of the greatest bands ever (and possibly the best to come out of the 1990's) they invented a completely new style of music and revolutionized everything they came in contact with, from their politics to their concerts to their music.

Does anyone else here like Rage Against the Machine still, and was anyone fortunate enough to attend a concert of theirs?

Yes it is your fault?

You see them in Philly? I would have seen them in Hartford, but the stupid guy from the Beastie Boys had to break his ankle.

Correction: They were THE greatest band of all time. :thumbup2:

I've got all their CDs and frequently listen to them while playing UT, but no, I never was able to go to a concert. :(

BTW we do have a thread about RATM. It's right here: :thumbup2:

Hmmn, I'd agree and say Rage was the best band, but I didn't put that for fear SK would come in and tell me I was wrong and that Good Charlotte actually was. *shudders*

I own all their CDs as well, and you'd think after hearing the same music over and over again they'd get sort of old, but they're still the best in my book (and if you don't believe that I'll make a book just to prove you wrong).

I like your thread. Sadly, you qoou's don't have one  This was made by a non-qoou. :tongue7:

A favorite song? A favorite album?

I dunno, lyrically I might actually throw in BoLA... but in the end it was over produced and not so great. Selftitled had good songs like Bombtrack, Killing in the Name, Take the Power Back, Know Your Enemy, Wake Up and Freedom... but Evil Empire had People of the Sun, Bulls on Parade, Tire Me, Down Rodeo and Year of the Boomerang..

I think I might toss in Evil Empire as the best, simply because of what came with it. The music videos weren't nearly as good as Freedom was, but the shirts, the posters, the concerts all were (Bulls on Parade is also one of my favorite songs, so that scores good points) plus Tom's guitar playing is so much better (Revolver, Down Rodeo, Wind Below, Vietnow, Bulls on Parade, et cetera) and that ought to count for something.

Totally. I have a Good Charlotte wallet in my pocket right now. They're so rebellious. Their music is so punk. I'm so glad they sing about the lifestyles of the rich and famous. They never sound whiny or hypocritical at all.

NIN's newer stuff doesn't sound as good, but it's still good.

:) Because I pay attention to what you say.

Are you trying to say they don't sound either of the two?
